Seoul, Korea ¶May 25, 2012-- SK Broadband said on May 23 that the broadband Internet access provider would soon release the 5/2.4-gigahertz dual-band Wi-Fi phone, a significant improvement over the existing 2.4-gigahertz phone.
The new phone device has reduced the problem of frequency interference by taking advantage of higher bandwidth. In addition, the new model will provide clearer voice quality through the wide-band voice compression technique. It will feature a 2.4-inch color LCD screen with a new, more convenient text input method.
Lee Myong-Geun, the head of SK Broadband’s corporate business division, said, “Our new dual-band Wi-Fi phone suffers no problem of frequency interference and boasts a voice quality very close to natural voice through the use of HD codec. We expect to gain visible market shares in the enterprise Internet phone market in the coming quarters.”
