Asiana employees pose for photo with the children in Vietnamese after the cooking class at the Korea-Vietnamese Cooperation Center in Vietnamese on the 14th.
Seoul, Korea June 15, 2012--Korean flagship carrier
Asiana Airlines hosted “Recipe of Love” cooking class for Vietnamese children in
its joint effort by Samsung Electronics providing ovens and cooking class
knowhow.
Asiana employees visited Korea-Vietnamese Cooperation
Center in Hanoi where they offered a cooking class to about 260 children
including 90 handicapped children.
The Asiana Incheon International Airport Branch has
been voluntarily engaged in corporate social activities for 3 years now. It all
started back in June 2011 when the employees visited the kids for a small sporting
event. The kids just loved the cookies and snacks they had prepared, so it had
to be the cooking class the following year.
They raised 5 million won plus the company’s
matching fund, and Samsung Electronics donated 30 ovens and other cooking
equipments and shared years of knowhow in running cooking classes.
Choi Jung-hyun, an assistant manager at Asiana Airlines,
said what had started off as a small gesture of kindness was pulled off as huge
events and he was really pleased to see the children enjoying the cookies and
pizzas.
