Seoul, Korea ¶ June 25, 2012 --SK Telecom will begin a campaign to inform of the risk to children of harmful information on smartphone and how to prevent it, jointly with the Parents’ Union on Net. The company will kick off the campaign “Freeze! Smartphone Harmful Content” on June 23 simultaneously in eight cities across the country.
SK Telecom’s T Youth-proof Service, the software program that keeps improper material away from children’s smartphones, has been offered free of charge to its members since May 8, the first in Korea.

In addition, SK Telecom will send out a booklet informing about the service enclosed in the monthly bill starting the June billing cycle, as well as school newsletters to children’s parents starting September after obtaining an approval with the Korea Communications Commission.
Jang Dong-Hyun, SK Telecom’s head of marketing division, said, “In order to prevent harmful material from reaching our children, it is important that parents keep vigilant and children be informed of the risk. In addition to the latest campaign, we will keep working on finding ways to make the smartphone environment free of unhealthy material.”
