The 3G model of the Galaxy S3 was released to 2,700 SK Telecom branches and online T World Shop. The 3G model was available only through SK Telecom and the LTE model is planned to release during July.
Seoul, KOREA ¶ Jun 25, 2012 (Whowired) -- SK Telecom released Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S3 on 25th Jun. On the same day, the largest mobile operator in the country also held an event of registering the first and second customers of Galaxy S3 at the T World Premium Store. The 3G model of the Galaxy S3 was released to 2,700 SK Telecom branches and online T World Shop. The 3G model was available only through SK Telecom and the LTE model is planned to release during July.
The lucky person to become the first Galaxy S3 user in the country was Lee Sang-kwon who put his order just 53 seconds after the pre-orders started on the 12th. He said “I changed my old phone with the Galaxy S3 through a compensation sale event. I like the fact that I can use apps that I bought through T Store on my new phone.” The second Galaxy S3 user in the country was Cho Kang-ho who said that “I bought the Galaxy S3 to use the latest best smartphone on the unlimited plan through the seamless SK Telecom’s network.”
Cho Woo-hyun, Vice President of SK Telecom's customer marketing office, said “Since 3G customers still account for 30% of new subscribers, we have decided to release the 3G model of the Galaxy S3, in an effort to diversify the customer base from 2G to 4G.”
