The grilled rice cake is better known as diet food that helps women to cut back on the food intake providing enough nutrients while maintaining its good tastes.
Seoul, Korea ¶ June 27, 2012--Homegrown brand Didilhyang, rice cake made of fresh ground grains, is taking the country by a storm as a new diet food with higher dietary fiber content. The main ingredients of Didilyang ranges from barley, unpolished rice, adlay, black beans, pumpkins, prickly pear, black rice, mugwort, to Chinese herbs.
According to Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services, Didilhyang has 9.6% higher contents of dietary fiber than the other average rice cakes and prevents the activities of lipase—an enzyme that catalyzes the formation or cleavage (hydrolysis) of fats—or the absorption of fats. Recently Didilhyang has almost doubled the rate of lipase activity to 15.5% from previous 8.6%.
It only uses unpolished rice, barley, and other crops grown in Korea. The refreshingly light and clean flavor of this unassuming health food makes it the perfect item for mothers recovering from childbirth and/or their lactation.
Didilhyang started production last year and exporting to Japan in partnership with NH Trading. Currently they export 5 tons (or 10,000 bags of 500 grams) per month with plans to expand into China, US, and Europe.
