Seoul, KOREA ¶ Jul 05, 2012 (Whowired) -- Gameville and NHN Japan join force to advance into overseas smartphone game industries. Gameville said on July 4 that it will provide its mobile games to overseas markets via the platform of NHN Japan’s mobile messenger LINE.
A day before the announcement, Gameville and NHN Japan also unveiled that it has sealed a strategic partnership with NHN Japan in Tokyo. Under the partnership, Gameville will provide its mobile games to overseas markets including Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Australia. It is expected that the strategic partnership between Japan’s No.1 smartphone platform Line and Korea’s leading smartphone game developer Gameville would create a tangible synergy effect for both companies.
NHN Japan’s LINE is a smartpone-based application to provide free voice calls and messengers. Since June 2011, it has attracted 45 million users in 230 countries or regions. The messenger platform is especially popular among Japan with 20 million users in the country.
