Seoul, Korea ¶ July 18, 2012 -- Robots have made inroads on just about every field of daily life – helping around the house, befriending and socializing with you by dancing, jumping and even playing musical instruments. How about robot teacher or robot baby sitter for your kids? In factuality, robot teacher have been doing their parts as a capable faculty member at “Smart Schools” in Sejong city, officially called Sejong Special Self-Governing City in southern Korea.

 

The smart schools opened in early July drew public attention hiring Mr. Robot Teacher for tutoring roles, along with the cutting edge computer networks to better manage the students’ academic achievements and create much interactive learning environment, deserving to be called a genuine “smart” learning campus in the nation.

 

The old style of learning by rote has given out to the student-centered learning approach in a way to foster inherent creativity among students at the school. This sort of “smart” digital learning environment can do work, on the back of the highest mobile phone penetration, ultra-speedy  network infrastructure and the quality education materials; Korea is now being touted as an exemplary case for a growing number of foreign governments to adopt “smart learning” system for now.

 

 

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy recently announced a plan to build Smart Learning Industry Support Center at Kintex in Gyeonggi province, northern Seoul, which is expected to be open in next month.

 

The government-led project was conceived to help reinvigorate cash-short smart learning service providers in the nation. The center will support domestic e-learning companies to grow into well established global smart learning contents providers by a range of supporting measures; offering office spaces and supporting with the e-learning technology developments and human resources. Korea now looks to evolving itself into a smart learning powerhouse on a global stage in the process in terms of technology prowess as well as top-notch smart contents.
