SEOUL, Korea, Aug 18 (Whowired) — The global mobile messenger "Line" developed by NHN Japan has released on August 17 an application for the Blackberry device. Line is a smartphone app that allows free-of-charge phone calls and messenger chats. Currently there are more than 55 million users in 230 countries across the world.

The company expects the new app will be popular in countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand where Blackberry is in wide use.
