SEOUL, Korea, Aug 21 (Whowired) -- The popularization of smart devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs has had a profound impact on printed book publishers. Increasingly the printed book market has shrunk at the expense of the rapidly growing e-book market.

The same is true for the cartoon industry. In response to the changing market environment, cartoon publishers are busy developing e-book applications. The publishers of web cartoons, or web-toons, are also trying hard to enter the app market.

One of the most notable examples of this kind is “Layers Anarchy” created by Glpi. The manga series has been wildly popular among readers as a web-toon on the Daum portal’s web-toon page. Lately the creators published it in an application form for the users of smart devices.

Glpi, a group of manga creators, has been active since 2010 and become famous after their first manga series “Magical Crash” was introduced in the same year.

Available in three languages including English and Japanese as well as in Korean, the app is sold in iTunes app store in nine country markets.
