Seoul, KOREA ¶ Apr 05, 2012 (Whowired) -- LG U+ said on April 4 that it has launched a new app called “QRNo,” the application that permits the user to have access to mobile services by entering numbers instead of alphabet keys. QRNo, or Quick Response Number, is a newly evolved form of the QR code that is widely in use in newspapers, magazines, and other printed advertisements. All the user has to do is press numbers and the hotkey on the smartphone and visit the site of her choice.
For example, if the user wishes to go to “DingDong,” the location-based service offered by LG U+, all she needs is type 33 followed by pressing the Go! button.
The QR numbers can be obtained easily on its website (www.qrno.co.kr). Any corporation that wants to use the numbers for promotion can do so by getting the numbers from the site and use them for advertising to smartphone users.
