KT said on April 16 that the telecom giant has launched a commercial “Global Coupon” service that allows users to receive discounts when shopping at department stores and arcades in Japan, as well as through NTT DoCoMo.
The smartphone users who have registered with Korean telecom service providers can get a discount of 5 to 10 percent (or receive free gifts of corresponding value) at as many as 200 locations including the third floor stores at Tokyo International Airport (18 stores), commonly known as Haneda Airport, the Keio Department Store arcade in Shinjuku (all stores except food shops and restaurants), Keio Plaza Hotel arcade, and Yodobashi Camera (all stores).
Any KT smartphone users who have downloaded Olleh MyWallet, the electronic wallet app, can use the virtual coupon. With a simple touch of the NFC smart poster with the smartphone at major locations at Gimpo and Tokyo International airports, they can also download additional coupons.
