Seoul, Korea¶ LG Electronics rolls out international version of 3D smart phone OPTIMUS 3D MAX starting from Germany on the 23^rd and gradually spreading into other major cities in Europe and elsewhere. The second 3D smart phone unveiled by LG is expected to strengthen its market position as the representative 3D smart phone manufacturer after the release of its first 3D smart phone OPTIMUS 3D last year.

OPTIMUS 3D Max was much anticipated by the global mobile media after it was unveiled at MWC last February where it received rave review with 2mm thinner, 20g lighter follow up version of OPTIMUS3D which also has 40% brighter monitor with 250 nits in 3D mode.

One of the biggest differences comparing to the previous version is the built-in editing features for mobile application icons and 3D movie images. Actually the mobile-savvy younger generations in Korea where sales started last March found it very much satisfactory that they can change the icon images with their photos or other images.

The 3D image editing feature is yet another unparalleled strength of this version as users can shoot, edit, and watch 3D video images on their mobiles without glasses. Also, the conventional 2D images as in games and the map applications like Google Earth and Google Maps can be converted into 3D.

Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said LG is determined to present innovative mobile experiences such as 3D Entertainment to customers and the successful branding of LG as the synonym of 3D is expected to contribute to LG smart phones in making a grand comeback.
