The BLIS initiative is part of the Bahrain government’s “Economic Vision 2030” to establish a one-stop digitalized BLIS service. The Bahrain government has taken a thorough review process lasting more than six months since last September to select LG CNS as the successful bidder among 18 other global companies.

Seoul, KOREA ¶ May 08, 2012 -- LG CNS has emerged as a winner in global e-government business markets beating other global competitors to prove its accumulated competitive expertise in the field.

E-government means digitalized government platforms to perform digital interactions between a government and citizens, businesses or other governments. The digital interactions consist of all levels of government activities including governance, information and communications technology, and business process reengineering.

LG CNS.jpg LG CNS is an LG Group-affiliated IT services company in Korea with unequalled expertise in e-government business. LG CNS has also played a major role in the Korean government’s e-Korea initiatives and has successfully been expanding its global territories for e-government business.

The company said on May 7 that it has signed a contract with the e-Government Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop a BLIS (business license information system) system issuing commercial licenses. Under the terms of the US$8-million agreement, LG CNS will implement the system by 2014 and take the responsibility of maintenance and repair services afterwards.

The Bahrain government has taken a thorough review process lasting more than six months since last September to select LG CNS as the successful bidder among 18 other global companies. LG CNS plans to take its deal as a cornerstone to tap into other e-government businesses in Bahrain such as patent procedures, government for citizen service, and data-center building and maintenance.

Park Jin-kuk, chief director of Public/SOC Business at LG CNS, said, “With this successful deal with the Bahrain government as the starting point, we will continue to expand our e-government business territories toward other Middle Eastern countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

LG CNS’s e-Government business success has not been limited to the Middle East, but expanding to other parts of the globe. In April, the company signed a tentative agreement on e-government collaboration with Panama’s government at its main office in Seoul. Under the terms of the agreement, LG CNS agreed to actively support Panama’s e-government project, which includes security solutions consulting.

LG CNS also successfully completed its projects like an Emergency Information Network (EIN) system in Mongolia, and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for the Indonesian Police Agency. In addition, the company is currently engaging in other overseas e-government businesses such as the Morocco National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and the Indonesian National Financial Information System (NAFIS).
