Seoul, KOREA ¶ Jan 18, 2012 (Whowired) -- Of late, the delivery service using convenience store networks has increased by leaps and bounds in Korea. According to Korea Express, the express delivery company with 17,000 convenience stores under its network, it has delivered as many as 6 million packages of goods through this way in 2011.
The factor behind this growth is enhanced convenience on the part of the service users. For example, the customer can send the package by visiting a store near her home. Since the stores are open 24 hours a day, she can practically send the package any time she wants. Recently the service has become even more convenient as the stores introduced a new post office box within their stores.
Convenience stores are expanding their service areas by putting in ATM machines within the premises and allowing customers to pay utility bills in the stores.
