KEB expects its CSR efforts kick into the hustle and bustle in the new Myungdong Market to promote a place for culture and arts.
Seoul, Korea ¶ June 13, 2012--Korea Exchange Bank opens a market in Samgak Park behind the KEB main branch in Seoul as a part of its effort to bolster its CSR activities and to give back to the local community.
The market roughly translated into “The Romance in Myungdong, Cheerful Market” will be held every weekend offering a place for cultural and art related events open to the public. KEB’s plan is to promote the market as a top attraction in the area frequented by foreign tourists and shoppers.
Aggressively expanding its volunteering and CSR activities and pushing the boundary to create new values by directly communicating with the stake holders, KEB supports a social entrepreneur “Center for Everyday Arts and Creation” unfolding a range of activities to enrich the cultural community where the citizens and creative minds take the initiative.
About forty artists in fine art, handicraft, and design areas exhibited their pieces for sale setting a different tone in the marketplace where indie bands performed their freestyle music to draw the attention of the passengers.
The Myungdong market opens on the 10th and the 24th in June, but from July to October it opens every Sunday from 1 to 6 PM.
