SK Communications Launches Samsung Smart TV-based Nate TV

Seoul, July 28 (Whowired) -- Nearing the London Olympics, SK Communications has launched a new service “Nate TV” that provides the day’s sports highlights and upcoming game schedules. The service is available on Samsung smart TV models. On the Nate TV screen, users can view Olympic events once the “Go London” menu is clicked. The company expects the service will be popular among those who miss the games the previous night and early morning.

Another advantage of Nate TV is that its TV Talk feature can allow users to post and share opinions on the program while watching it. The smart TV service Nate TV can be linked to the smartphone app “Nate TV Search” so that the user can post opinions through her smart device.In addition, it provides recommendations based on user feedbacks.

Jang Jun-Young, head of SK Communications’ smart TV business division, said, “We hope our viewers to enjoy the London Olympics in a whole new way. We are certain that Nate TV is a great platform by which viewers can make comments and share opinions.”

To celebrate the launch of Nate TV, the company will hold a promotional event. Until August 11, anyone can enter a sweepstake to predict the final ranking of Team Korea in the Olympics. The winners will receive a Samsung Smart TV (1 first-prize winner), Samsung Wireless Audio with a Dock (4 winners), and free ice cream coupons (1,000 winners).
