STX Dove to Be Korea’s First Vehicle to Sail Through Powered by Solar Energy

STX Panocean, one of leading shipbuilding companies in Korea, is to launch its first solar-powered vehicle on April 19 -- a first attempt for a Korean ship builder. The company said STX DOVE, dedicated automobiles carrier capable of uploading 6,700 cars in total, has been successfully equipped with a solar power system: solar panel or photovoltaic module capable of generating 24KW energy which is said to offer 5% of total energy in driving the ship for now and slated to raise its power generation capacity to the level of 120KW by 2013 (Whowired Staff)
