SK Telecom partners with Nokia Siemens Networks to export its ‘Smart Push’ PETA technology to overseas markets.

Seoul Korea ¶ May 02, 2012 - SK Telecom, in partnership with NSN(Nokia Siemens Networks), is set to export its ‘Smart Push’ PETA technology to overseas markets. SK Telecom’s Smart Push is one of its original PETA technologies to prevent over-trafficking on 3G or LTE networks that the largest Korean operator world-firstly commercialized in May last year.

Telecommunication industry is highly interested in the technology since it makes networks effectively handle with ever-increasing data traffic as well as improving qualities of messenger or SNS service. This deal is also the first time for a local operator to join with an overseas equipment provider. In the partnership deal, SK Telecom provides solutions and related technologies while NSN selling the products overseas. Both companies also plan to work together on the international standardization of Smart Push for chartering more overseas markets.

Smart Push is already linked with four major messenger and SNS services in Korea including Kakao Talk and has acquired 10 million subscribers only 7 months after its release, to prove its outstanding performances in preventing over-traffics on network.
