The BIO KOREA 2012 is to be held at Kintex, Korea from September 12 to 14, 2012. First started in 2006, BIO KOREA is the largest and most influential biotechnology event in Asia with its primary goal of integrating biotechnology with business. The event, co-organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and Chungbuk Province, will offer high-level conference, exhibitions, and partnership events, which will provide excellent opportunities to explore current technology trends in the bio industry and foster collaborative business development.
[SEOUL, Korea & New York, NY=Whowired] June 19, 2012--BIO KOREA 2012 Conference will cover a diverse range of areas, such as medical care, food, agriculture, energy, chemical, and environment and serve as a place to discuss, acquire, and share the latest knowledge on topics including vaccines, clinical trials, regenerative medicine, bio energy, licensing, investment attraction, industrial policies and systems with 38 sessions to be given by more than 200 speakers, chairs, and panels. The numbers of expected exhibitors and visitors are 265 companies and 13,000 persons respectively.
The Korean bio industry has been growing at a rapid pace over the past few years through excellent IT, quality human resources, and technological power. Vast improvements in the medical and clinical capacities of the healthcare industry have been made and according to OECD health data for 2009, Korea was ranked in the top 10 in competitiveness for all areas related to the healthcare industry, such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, employment, R&D investment, invitation of foreign patients, and patent application. These strides in remarkable progress can be attributed to the effort and support of the government, research institutions, academies, and related industries, all with the common goal of making Korea the next center of booming bio industry. The upcoming BIO KOREA 2012 will ultimately signify the culmination of these efforts.
Like such, as globalization becomes a prominent phenomenon in the bio industry with the number of bio related businesses increasing about 7 times and market value by 30 times, it is important to secure the leading position and competitiveness in the market. BIOKOREA business forum will provide highly cost-effective ways to form networking relationships for those in the bio/pharma industry, both domestic and foreign, and connect companies that are seeking business opportunities in the international arena, allowing mutually beneficial partnerships to form—and thereby, enhance global standings and competitiveness.
