NEXEN Tire Wins U.S. Good Design Award for Its Winter Tire

Seoul, KOREA ¶ Jan 04, 2012 (Whowired) --NEXEN Tire Corporation on January 3 announced that it had won a Good Design Award for its Wingard Sport tire, the high-performance winter tire. The Good Design Awards are given annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design to a hundred of products in 25 categories. The Wingard Sport tire won the award in the transportation category.

In early 2011, the tire company was the winner of the prestigious International Forum (iF) Product Design Award in Hanover, Germany. It also won Korea’s “Good Design (GD)” Award for the same product.

In the transportation category, the Good Design Awards were bestowed to a total of 19 products, including automobiles and motor bikes by BMW, Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz models, and Kia’s new lineups. NEXEN’s Wingard Sport is the only tire product that won the transportation Good Design Award.
