SEOUL, Korea ¶ Oct 31, 2011 (Whowired) -- LG Electronics (LG) launches its first Smart TV based advertising service in an attempt to tap into one of the most promising and emerging advertising platforms for the foreseeable future. LG plans to carry out the Smart TV advertising service in Korea and the US from coming November and to expand it throughout Europe and Asian regions.
In comparison with mobile application advertising, Smart TV advertising can provide much wider screen which allows more favorable environments to develop video-oriented advertising content -- offering good chance to shape up a new advertising paradigm in the market. Moreover, smart TV advertising appeals to all the party with stakes which includes advertiser, application developer and content provider.
As for the advertiser, he can make an exquisite and on-target advertising without worrying about "wasted" ads. In addition, more detailed and systematic advertising results will be available. Smart TV advertising is similar to smartphone's application advertising -- which allows users to activate an application on the mobile screen and watch the advertising on the menus.
