Seoul, KOREA ¶ Dec 29, 2011 (Whowired) -- LG Electronics plans to release ultra-high definition 84 inch 3D UDTV with cinema 3D and smart TV features as early as next year. UD (Ultra Definition 3,840*2,1600) has four times higher definition than full HD with more than 8 million pixels.
No TV makers so far have released a UD TV. And LG's 84 inch 3D UDTV will be the biggest and widest in the 3D TV market. LG Electronics plans to unveil it at 2012 CES in Las Vegas.
LG also aims to strengthen on the development of next generation displays like UD, OLED and active 3D to initiate the market. Display Search, a market research, predicts that the sales of UD TV global market would grow from mere 30,000 in 2012 to whopping 2.14 million in 2015 with the annual growth rate of 299% on average.
