
SEOUL, Korea ¶ Oct 17, 2011 (Whowired) -- SK Telecom, which lauched the first 4G LTE service in Korea in last July, is gaining a momentum of the ultra-high wireless 4G LTE service with an impressive initial success.
The largest mobile operator in Korea by revenue announced on Oct 17 that its daily subscribers to the LTE service have now reached 10,000 as more LTE enabled phones from major manufacturers like Samsung , LG, HTC are available in the market; At the moment, three LTE phones have been released in one of the most wired countries in the world: Galaxy S2 LTE, HTC Raider 4G, Optimus LTE.
SK Telecom said that this surprise jump in its LTE service subscribers is mainly thanks to power users in their 20s-30s who love to enjoy multimedia contents on the move. SK also expects that its LTE customer base will increase continuously as even more powerful LTE devices are waiting to be released soon.
