Seoul, KOREA ¶ Kia Motors Corporation has become the “title sponsor” of an international extreme sporting games event. The Korea-based automotive manufacturer is the main sponsoring entity in “KIA X Games Asia 2012” to be held for four days between April 28 and May 1. The venue for the games will be the Jiangwan Sports Center in Shanghai.
X games, or extreme games, include highly active sports such as cycling, skateboarding, inline skating, and snowboarding. Sponsored and hosted by Kia and ESPN, respectively, the X Games are joined by world-class players in areas like skateboarding, aggressive inline, bicycle motocross (BMX), and MotoX.
Kia Motors will take advantage of this opportunity to promote its auto models such as the K2, K5, Sportage R, and Sorento R in several locations in and around the venue. In addition, the company will hold events to attract the visitors’ attention within the stadium including 1-to-1 soccer game, puzzles, face painting, snap photos, and online X games.
