Seoul, KOREA ¶ Mar 12, 2012 (Whowired) -- The rise in migrant workers and international students has helped Korea move closer to becoming a multicultural society at a faster clip. And this trend is opening a new opportunity for Korean companies which face increasingly fragmented and saturated market in the nation.
KTIS, a subsidiary of KT group for marketing business, has decided to bet on this emerging "niche" market in Korea: growing demands from migrant workers and so called "multi-cultural" families which refer to ones created by international marriages -- if not multi-racial marriage -- here in Korea.
KTIS announced it has opened KTIS Mall, a shopping mall aimed at migrant workers and students with international nationalities in "Multi Cultural Streets" located in Ansan, Geonggi Province, where concentration of such foreign nationalities is high. The mall largely carries mobile gadgets featuring up-front payment plan for the convenience of their particular conditions staying in Korea.
