Woori Bank said on April 23 that the bank would begin a promotion campaign for government-initiated discount gas stations, jointly with Korea Expressway Corporation. The campaign will take place at the Goongnae Tollgate located in the city of Bundang. The chief executives of the two companies will appear on the campaign site.
The discount gas stations have been springing up in response to rising oil prices, beginning with the first station in Yongin last December and numbering as many as 440 within little more than three months. The government expects that the number would rise to as many as 1,000 at the end of the year.
Woori Bank has issued a credit card called “Woori V Card” that can be used whenever the motorist fills up her car at a discount gas station and receive a discount of up to 120 won per liter or 150 mileage points that can be used to purchase gift items later.
