Wando, Korea ¶ The Travelers’ School in Cheongsan Island, South Jeolla Province, was created in March this year after undergoing the renovation on a now-closed middle school building. The school has since become the mecca of slow living movement where people tired of busy city life can take their time off and relax with walking, wildflower picking, artwork, and natural-food cooking.
Within the school building, travelers can find many rooms with themes ranging from photography, music, painting, film viewing, to book reading, as well as the slow food experience room and lodging.
A tourism industry policy official at Wando County said, “The Travelers’ School won’t pursue commercial gains, but instead will seek to become a resort for everyone who wants to take time out. We will introduce soon programs such as walking on trails with a variety of entertaining experiences for the visitors.”
